Think of Rob as a young man trying to get his life collected. He is in his mid-twenties.  A prime age where he can boast to have seen it all (maybe a lot) and would proudly say he’s been there and done that, probably about teen stuff and middle-age affairs.

Rob is fresh from a broken relationship, still healing the wounds. His best friend, time, has been of real help.

Things happen. He had met this beautiful, free spirit young lady a long time ago. He had seen her grow.  She was now grown.

Event after event and to his expectation, she confesses her feelings for Rob. He felt the same too. It was just a matter of time. In no time they’re already getting down. It’s all fun and games.

She even says she would love to have a baby with Rob. Babies. Cute little babies. Rob has an adorable reap from his previous "let’s-forget-about-it" relationship. Little beauty wants the same.

She has never loved anyone else like she does Rob. Maybe just that one person she openly compared her love to was her god-mother aunt.

In a matter of time, Rob learns little beauty has had a heart-aching relationship. Rob will help her forget it. She wants that too. But she wouldn’t.

Wave after wave Rob becomes a part of a love triangle. Rob is chained. Invisible manacles.

Risky as it could sound, they keep it together. At least they try. No, he tried hard.

Rob thinks he is a genius. Maybe it’s a personal evaluation.

The shoulder he provided to little beauty is scathed. Lies and deception. Her cellular had more passwords and security than a rich man’s safe.

The guilty are afraid. The guilty are defensive.

She never was all in. Rob was. Rob tried his best. Rob gave his best. Rob wasn’t wrong.

Rob is not a genius but he can smell smoke and prevent a fire. This time, maybe Rob was not at his best.
There were all kinds of smoke but Rob, expecting two hands in work was all alone.

They say time is short when you’re happy but that same time is endless when you’re sad. Rob was getting sad. Rob was seeing no change.

She needed more wood for the fire. More ice to quench her thirst.

Rob waited but on the banks, the rivers were swelling.

When dawn gives birth to light, awaking is the end of a dream. Rob’s dream was ending.

He had seen it all coming.

There were excuses of black magic, promises and commitments made in the church. All these in the same sentence baffled Rob but Rob being Rob, let it pass. Time tells it all.

Excuses. Lies. Reasons she kept going back. Behind Rob’s back. Remember Rob the smoke detector? He knew it all.

So many other things Rob thought about but Rob walked away. It was already said and done.

Another wasted year.  Black magic won. Love lost.

The dog had looked up, went back to his vomit, and ate it.

All alone, Rob is walking home. Pills in his hands, burning groin, a deadly infection.

A broken heart.

His head held high, Rob hopes the world might not see, he dined and slept with the devil. A killer.
